Notes

  1. Ages:  The ages listed are the ages of the characters, not necessarily the ages of the actors playing those characters, depending on the ability to “play” older or younger.
  2. Monologues:  Monologues should be memorized.
  3. Singing auditions:  You may provide either your own accompaniment, or your own accompanist…or Sue will play for you if you provide sheet music.
  4. Choreography auditions:  Choreography audition will consist of the choreographer teaching a few dance steps for you to learn and perform.
  5. Resume/headshot:  If you have information (or a resume) concerning your theatre or vocal experience, feel free to bring that to the audition. Please bring a headshot or some type of photo of yourself.

Children

There are two drama roles for young girls along with a number of roles for children in the ensemble, ages 6 to 16 (approximately).  Children should audition on Tuesday or Thursday along with all others wishing to have a role in the production.

Casting Decisions

Those chosen for the cast and ensemble will be notified no later than Friday June 20, 2014.

We hope that everyone understands that, in any audition process, the directors and producers are looking for the best fit in each role, and that, inevitably, some will not be chosen for a role, or for the role they desire. If that should be the case, we hope that your audition experience is still a good one (we will do our best to make it so), and that you will perhaps join us in another equally important capacity in this production.

Retreat and Rehearsals

After the musical is cast, there will be a one-day retreat on Saturday September 6th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, during which we will have a first read-through and scripts will be handed out.

Rehearsals will begin on Monday, September 8th, and will continue on Monday and Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons until Tech Week (November 15th through 19th), and the performances. There will also most certainly be a few Saturday rehearsals called as we near the production dates.

Objectives

Our goal in this production is to represent the name of Jesus Christ, and to minister to unbelievers and believers alike. As such, we desire to put forward our very best effort and mount a professional-quality production. This will take talent, time, and hard work…as well as selfless attitudes and cooperative spirits.

Thanks again, for your interest…Good luck and God bless!

Sincerely,
Your Production Team:
